Advanced Algebra
This course is designed for the A2 student that has proven mastery of both Algebra I and Geometry classes. Topics to be covered in this year long course are as follows: Patterns and Functions, Introductory Data Analysis, Linear Models and Systems, Functions and Relations, Exponential Power and Log Functions, Quadratics, Trigonometry Concepts, Series and Probability.
Algebra I B Block
Algebra I is a class that introduces the mathematical branch of Algebra. Working with Real Numbers, Solving Equations and Problems, Polynomials, Factoring Polynomials, Fractions and their applicational use, Introduction to Functions, Systems of Linear Equations, and Inequalities are among the first topics learned about in this class.
Algebra I/Pre-Alg D Block
Algebra I is a class that introduces the mathematical branch of Algebra. Working with Real Numbers, Solving Equations and Problems, Polynomials, Factoring Polynomials, Fractions and their applicational use, Introduction to Functions, Systems of Linear Equations, and Inequalities are among the first topics learned about in this class.
Fishing Ecology
An introduction to fishing in the great state of Minnesota. Many different species and their behaviors will be studied. River fishing, lake fishing, fly fishing, ice fishing, History of fishing, Fish anatomy and physiology,fishing techniques, Fish sustainability and ecological implications of fish populations will be studied. There will be a field day where the students will be fishing and identifying species caught. Habitats and Ecosystems, and water stewardship will also be discussed. There will also be a group presentation on a fish species of choice.
Geometry
This course is for the A2 student who has successfully completed Algebra I. We will be covering Reasoning, Logic, Properties of Euclidean Geometry, Tools in Geometry, Basic Construction, Triangle Properties, Polygonal and Circle Properties, Basic Trigonometry,Pythagorean Identities, and Similarity. 70% of the course grade will be tests/quizzes and the remaining 30% will be participation, homework, and projects.
