This is an introductory course in Biology. During this semester, students will explore the following concepts: science process skills, lab safety,
the scientific method and measurement, ecology the cell, and genetics.
These concepts will be learned through lectures, demonstrations, computer quests, and “hands on” laboratory exercises. The emphasis in this course is on learning principles and applying them to real life circumstances. The students will NOT be required to memorize large numbers of facts and terms. However, certain vocabulary is necessary to demonstrate adequate mastery of the subject matter. To succeed in this class, students will have to think, reason, and work.
