| WELCOME TO VISUAL ARTS! |
Welcome students and parents to the Visual Arts Department. The 2011 - 2012 visual arts program is intended to keep you informed of major events, class assignments, and student needs at Pin Oak Middle School through out the school year.
This year the students will participate in an exciting visual arts educational program that will help in the development and understanding of this course through the art elements and the art principles. The students will explore great artworks, artists, and cultures locally and of the world. Additionally, the students will develop skills to appreciate art, participate in hands-on techniques, and develop critical thinking skills by creating and studying their own and others’ artwork.
More often than not, the visual arts is playing a vital role in education and in learning. Unlike other subject areas, in visual arts, the students are introduced to ways of thinking creatively, imaginatively. and academically. The visual arts encourages the students to think and learn in a variety of ways, and the students are required to demonstrate an understanding of the language of art and logic skills.
