Are you interested in performing off-campus volunteer community service during school hours? Community Outreach students will provide approximately 30-40 hours of off-campus service as an integral part of the course. This service-learning course focuses on volunteering which creates authentic occupational experiences in group and communication skills. Students will work together to improve the community and provide aid to charities through class projects. The class requires four days of individual service and one in-class seminar per week. Students have the opportunity to select their own service sites. Examples of service sites have included animal shelters, Early Child Family Education, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and elementary, junior and senior high schools. Become an active citizen and help your community!
PREREQUISITE: Application

This course will cover material on citizenship and American government. Participation in discussions and activities is important in order to create an effective learning environment. You can help make this class a great experience for everyone involved if you are positive, open-minded and informed. Let the fun begin!
