Curriculum for Primary Grades
Weekly reports will keep you up-to-date with your child’s progress, and a pre and post assessment will give you a clear look at the knowledge and skills your child gained through out the program.
Mathematics
*Graphing: interpreting data, reading graphs, tally graphs, bar graphs, and problem solving.
*Review and practice of addition and subtraction basic facts. (Timed tests will be given on a regular basis.)
*Money- review and practice of money counting skills
*Clock- telling time to the hour, half hour, and quarter hour
**Shapes, Vertices, Symmetry, and Patterns
**Review of basic skills in all areas.
Language Arts
*Reading print concepts and phonics
*Writing process (prewriting, drafting, editing, and revising)
*Development and practice of skills in reading comprehension
*Acquiring and understanding new vocabulary
*Creating fluid sentences
*Practice in the mechanics of writing
*Developing clear and focused written works
*Reading and writing autobiographies
