Week one has come to an end, and we think it's safe to say the kids wish it could continue. Primary grade classes did a cool jelly fish (alphabetizing) project and made some awesome wave bottles. Intermediate and middle school students created a class coral reef and designed their own islands. Everyone has had a blast with our Island Adventures theme!
Even more fun is in store for us with our Sports & Health theme, coming up next week. Get ready to get moving and get creative, boys and girls!
Please remember to get those folder signed and bring them back to school with you on Monday! (If you are in fourth or fifth grade, you don't have to worry because we forgot to send your folders home with you this week -- oops!) You may have noticed that folders were not too full this week; teachers are taking an extra close look at this week's work, so that individual needs can be assessed.
However, you may be assured that any work completed this week that was not sent home will be sent home next week.
On a final note, primary grade students will have a new teacher for reading and writing starting Monday. Mrs. McKeown did a great job filling in for Ms. Kelley, but she was not able to stay with us for the entire program. Fortunately, we were able to recruit another fabulous teacher, Ms. Miranda, to take over for the rest of the program. Ms. Miranda is very excited about working with the kids for the next three weeks!
