Access 21 Fall Baking
Intro to Food and Nutrition
This prerequisite course will introduce students to the role of food in their life and the affect their daily food choices have on their health. They will also discover that what they read or hear about food and nutrition is not always true. Students will learn to make effective use of resources when planning and organizing a kitchen, buying and caring for equipment and appliances, and purchasing and storing food. They will also develop fundamental skills they need to plan meals, follow recipes, work safely and efficiently in the kitchen or foods lab, and serve meals attractively. Students will learn how to select, store, and prepare a wide variety of foods.
