My summer plant experiment

| Students saw the results of a plant experiment I did over the summer, and pointed out all of the flaws in my uncontrolled experiment. | Today in class, students did a bean counting activity and were able to estimate the number of beans in a one pound bag and how many bags would be needed to have 1,000,000 and 1,000,000,000 beans. The second part of the activity focused on asexual reproduction of bacteria, and the exponential growth that happens due to doubling of their population every generation. |

The finished product will be a hand-made scrapbook, with one page devoted to each kingdom, highlighting key characteristics and representative organisms. |
