Students in Grades 2nd and 3rd grades will continue to learn different methods of Art Production and increase their ability in techniques and methods we have previously used. The emphasis on Art history (study of artists and various Art movements) and skills like Art Criticism and self-evaluation of artwork will be increased as the students' skills and abilities increase. Class curriculum and lessons are developed using criteria as outlined in the California State Standards for the Visual Arts.

Students in Grades 5th Grade will continue to learn different methods of Art Production and increase their ability in techniques and methods we have previously used. The emphasis on Art history (study of artists and various Art movements) and skills like Art Criticism and self-evaluation of artwork will be increased as the students' skills and abilities increase. More focus will be placed on individual creativity and originality. Class curriculum and lessons are developed using criteria as outlined in the California State Standards for the Visual Arts.
Students will also be expected to keep and maintain a sketchbook; they will receive short weekly assignments, designed to improve their creativity and drawing skills.

Students in Grades 8th Grade will experiment with more advanced techniques and materials and be expected to attain mastery in basic skills. A working knowledge of previously studied Art terminology, artists/art movements and skills like Art Criticism and self-evaluation of artwork will be expected. Students will be expected to work at a much more creative, independent level then in previous years. Class curriculum and lessons are developed using criteria as outlined in the California State Standards for the Visual Arts.
Students will also be expected to keep and maintain a sketchbook; they will receive short weekly assignments, designed to improve their creativity and drawing skills.

Students in Grades Pre-K-1st will learn about many different methods of Art production, as well as an introduction to basic Art history. Students will learn skills and vocabulary to discuss their own work as well as the artwork of others. Lessons are developed using criteria outlined in the California State Standards for the Visual Arts.
