Film & Genre Seminar
This semester-long English Department elective for seniors focuses on viewing film as literature. Our Essential Questions: how do film-makers deliver a message to their audiences? How do they manipulate our perceptions? Students begin the course by becoming familiar with and knowledgeable about some of the basic terms and concepts of Cinematography and Film Structure, then move on to view, analyze, and evaulate a selection of films.
