I am a 1976 graduate of Boaz High School (yes, that makes me 50!) and a 1980 graduate of Auburn University. My Bachelor of Science degree was in Early Childhood Education. I received a Master of Science degree from The University of Alabama in Early Childhood Education in 1981. I started teaching second grade (2 years) at Evans Elementary then, when Big Spring Lake was built, I moved to West End Elementary and taught kindergarten for 12 years. I have been teaching first grade for 14 years and find that it is my favorite grade to teach. First graders are fun, loving and ready to learn.
I am married and have two teenage sons. We live in Boaz and my sons attend Boaz High School. We are active members of Boaz First Baptist Church and we all are members of a choir and enjoy singing. I enjoy watching them play sports, white water kayaking, snow and water skiing, biking, hiking, traveling and reading. I have found that life is very short and I want to pack as much in as possible!
