Learn Today--Achieve for Life
Welcome to the British Literature and Composition website. I hope this site will enable both parents and students to check any missed homework or serve as a reminder for any upcoming assignments and events. It also gives an overview of what is expected in the course and I have tried to add helpful links for both students and parents for not only this course but for colleges.

Parents, I encourage you to go the homepage and sign up for Infinite Campus so that you are aware, each day, of your child's progress. If you have any questions about grades or assignments, feel free to call me at any point.

This is a challenging year for both parents and students so please let me know if I can help you in any way as you prepare for vocational schools and colleges. Please feel free to contact me at this site or ppatterson@fannin.k12.ga.us or by calling the high school at 706-632-2081. I will be glad to talk to you.

Jennifer Walker has been working with the seniors as well and she can be contacted by email at jwalker@fannin.k12.ga.us

About me:
I was born and raised in Fannin County, attended Epworth Elem, West Fannin Middle School and then graduated in 1992 from FCHS. I now teach Senior English in the same room I was taught by Sandra Mercier.

After graduation, I attended North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega where I got my major in English and min in History. Throughout college, I worked for five yrs as a waitress and dishwasher as well as summer jobs at a nursery and daycamp. After I graduated, I was a staff writer at Shelby Publishing in Gainesville before going back to school to get my teaching certification. I moved home to Blue Ridge and started teaching Senior English in 2000. Since then, I have gone back to school to get my master's at Piedmont and my specialist at LMU, which I completed in 2007. I was in charge of the yearbook for three years and helped my best pal Heather Collis with competition and football cheerleading for six years. Heather and I are now in charge of graduation at the high school. I will download all documents for graduation closer to the time.

My dream was to come back to my high school and teach and raise my children close to my family. I am married to Howie Bruce and we have two small children, Rachel and Collin. Any free time I have is spent with them. I have three new nephews (Reid, AJ and Quin) who were born this summer.

My passion is the Kevin Jenrette Packages for Soldiers mission at the school. Since August 2007, we have been able to send over 600 carepackages to local soldiers stationed overseas.

Teaching has been the most rewarding thing that I have ever done and I love the kids. They are on the verge of something wonderful and I hope they find as much happiness in their careers as I have found in mine. Please let me know what I can do to help and to research any vocational schools or colleges that I can. I am here for you guys!

With many blessings! PPB
