AP English 2012 - 2013
This class is for the student who loves to read! The focus of the class is reading, discussing, and analyzing works of literary merit in the English language from the 16th century to the present day.
Age of Innocence book club
Are you reading Age of Innocence? A few of us are reading this Pulitzer winning novel by our favorite, Edith Wharton.
Register for this "class" and we will chat on-line about the book. Edith 'Wharton won the Pultizer Prize for Age of Innocence and many consider it her greatest book. If you liked Ethan Frome, you will probably like this book, but you will find that it is very different. The society in Age of Innocence is not the rural, poverty-striken society of Ethan Frome. No, these people are the wealthy aristocrats of early 19th century New York. This is the world of Edith Wharton; this is the world she knew. I am excited to know what you think of the book! If you have Age, try to read the first five chapters by next Wednesday (1/23).
Moby Dick book club
Are you ready for a challenge? Moby Dick will certainly provide you with a unforgettable reading experience. I read it in college and I am really looking forward to rereading it with you.
How much have you read? What do you think after you have read the first chapter?
Jane Eyre book club
Have you read Jane Eyre? Do you want to talk about it? This on-line book club is for those of us who have read and loved this book. Post your comments and your questions!
