Course Description:  Strategies is a Special Education course where students will be provided with academic, organization, and transitional support to help student be successful during their time at Woodbury High School and through out their life. 

 

Required Materials:

Writing Utensil          Planner or Calendar             Work    Weekly Grade Check Form

 

Grading:

STRATEGIES grade will either be a P or Pass or N for No Credit.  Earning a Pass or credit for this class will be determined based on students completing their WEEKLY GRADE CHECK FORM, USING A PLANNER SYSTEM or CALANDAR, and demonstrating appropriate WORK SKILLS. Points will be awarded as follows:

 

·         Weekly Grade Check Form 60 POINTS/ Weekly

·         Planner or Calendar             5 POINTS/ Daily

·         Work Skills                             5 POINTS/ Daily

 

Percentages:

In order to receive a P and earn credit for this class students must earn 80% of the points.  Earning less than 80% will mean that the student does not earn credit for this course and a N (No Grade) will be placed on the students transcript. 

 

 

Classroom Expectations:

·         You will show respect to one another, the instructor and school property. 

·         Do your own work, cheating is NOT acceptable

·         Appropriate behavior and language are expected at all times

·         Follow school rules and regulations as stated in the student handbook.

·         Students will use this time to complete work from other classes or will work on their IEP goals.

·         Students will complete a daily planner each day

·         Students will COMPLTED their Grade Check Form each week and will obtain required teachers signatures. 

 

 

 

 

This class is designed for students working on vocabulary, reading, writing, grammar, and other areas of English.  The class is graded on the total accumulation of points.   Grades may be accessed on the parent portal site at WHS.

 

The following grading scale is used by all district high school teachers.
