Mythology is a senior elective that will explore the Greek mythology as well as other teacher-selected mythologies based on student interest. Students will explore the purpose of myths, the heroic cycle, and how these mythologies connect to today's society.

Sophomore Level 1 English studies a variety of short stories, novels, and a small sampling of poetry and essays as supplements to the curriculum. Texts include The Catcher in the Rye, To Kill A Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, and Othello. Students will be responsible for reading independently as well as CAPT-style writing assignments. Two process papers are required.

Sophomore Level 2 studies a wide variety of short stories, novels, essays, plays, and nonfiction with a focus on CAPT skills. Texts will include To Kill A Mockingbird, Othello, and Of Mice and Men.

Writing for College is a senior elective that will focus on preparing students for the styles of writing that will be expected of them in college. It will include preparing a college application essay, close readings, analyzing texts for meaning and writing style, and a research paper.
