Course Objectives:

Spanish 1A is an introductory Spanish course completed in the sixth grade. Students learn to communicate in Spanish using the skills of listening,speaking, reading and writing.
Class objectives for the 3rd six weeks:
• Students will beign studying chapter 2A- Tu dia en la escuela.
•Students will be able to:
• talk about school schedules and subjects.
• discuss what students do during the school day.
• Write and speak using ar verbs.
• Please use the links posted on the welcome page to practice Spanish outside of the classroom every night.

Spanish 1B is the second half of the Spanish 1 course and is completed in the seventh grade.
In this course students will build on the language skills acquired in Spanish 1A. Students will further develop communication, listening, speaking and writing skills through a variety of class activities.
Students will also receive one high school credit upon satisfactory completion of Spanish 1A and Spanish 1B.
Students will continue to explore the Spanish language and the cultures of the many and varied people who speak it.
3rd 6 weeks objectives:
1. Students will begin studying chapter 6B "Como es tu casa?" (pp. 297-319)
2. Students will be able to identify and talk about rooms in a house.
3. Students will be able to name and discuss household chores.
4. Students will understand cultural perspectives on different types of housing.

Spanish 2 is offered to eighth grade students and builds on skills learned in Spanish 1.
Objectives and goals for the 3rd six weeks:
1. The students will be studying chapter 2A- "Como te preparas? (pp. 72-93)
2. In this chapter students will be able to describe daily routines using reflexive verbs.
3. Students will be able to describe people and things using the verbs ser and estar.
4. Students will be able to express possession using possessive adjectives.
