| We all want to put shopping behind us and relax for the holidays. |
December is always a busy month. We start with a visit on December 1st from Pat Young and her Experiential-Learning Program. Students will experience hands on activities to learn about the customs of the Pueblo Indians. We are learning about the lifestyle and traditions of three main tribes: the Pueblo, the Sioux and the Powhatan. How did these Native Americans live long ago? We had the opportunity to visit a Powhatan longhouse while on our field trip to Fort Story.
Mr. Burke’s winter concert will be performed for second grade on December 16th. We look forward to listening to the songs of the holiday season.
Many families will visit the lights at the beach on our Polar Express. This will be an exciting and fun experience for our Cooke families.
Our last party of the season will be on Friday, December 19th. If you signed up as a room parent, be prepared for a phone call about party donations.
Continue to read regularly with your child and encourage completing homework assignments.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
