I am delighted to be the Resource Reading teacher at Cooke. Previous to joining the staff at Cooke in September,2005, I was a kindergarten teacher for 19 years and also a second grade teacher for 8 years, all with VB schools.
I graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College and earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education at ODU.
My husband and I have two sons, one in college and one is a senior in high school.
As the Resource Reading teacher, I work with small groups of students using the Soar to Success program which is specifically designed to accelerate students' reading levels and supplement classroom reading instruction. I help students to improve their understanding of what they are reading as well as help them to increase their vocabulary recognition skills. |
