Students are learning what a "hypothesis" is. They had a chance to state their hypothesis on Monday (9-8-08)in an experiement.
Some of our students made paper canoes. Each student had to write down which canoe they thought would float in a container of water.
Results: Some canoes did float! (and some did not) Each student had to draw a record of the experiment.

Students begin the year with Narrative Writing. Their narrative should consist of a small moment or event from their lives which they "stretch out" into a story.
New: We will continue to work on Narrative Writing until the end of October. In Nov., we will begin the Report Writing genre.
