Students will study various works of American Literature from Native American Folklore to the Modern Period. The course will prepare students for specific writing experiences such as exposition, literary analysis, and literary criticism as well as provide speaking, listening and viewing opportunities, vocabulary development, research skills, and test-taking strategies. A research paper is required as part of this course, as well as a state end of course test (EOCT), which is given in the spring.
