"Ring a Bell for Reading" Contest- deadline: Thursday, 12/13/07 (homework)

| Specifics of the Scholastic Book Club contest: 1. Cut a paper bell out of 8 1/2 by 11 paper, on the front write a message that celebrates reading. Decorate the front. On the back, include your name, age, grade, "Mrs. Huttemann", "St. Mary's School" address and phone. There will be 25 national winners, but the awesome thing is for every entry, a book is donated to needy schools. This a GREAT way to help others while getting into the holiday spirit. This is not mandatory, but participants will receive extra credit points in either LA or Religion- your choice. HAPPY HOLIDAYS, HAPPY READING! |

Test one...Test two...I can't be sure, but we might be "up and running" again. How exciting!
It was great to see so many parents at last week's conferences. It is nice that the schedule allows us to meet with as many parents as we can. It's a tiring process, but well worth the effort.
On to school news-
There will be no biblical passage quiz this week. They will start back up again next week.

Language Arts: On LL or typed, original sentences (20 total) from the Lesson #2 spelling vocab words
Religion: Short essay on LL or typed- "How can I take care of myself in body, mind or spirit?"
WEDNESDAY:
PTA MEETING has been postponed.
Language Arts:
Religion:Study for the St. Michael, the archangel prayer test tomorrow!
THURSDAY:
Language Arts: At least a paragraph with at least 10 Lesson #2 spelling/vocab words. Make the paragraph something about the environment. Doesn't necessarily have to be about pollution.
Religion: Study for Biblical passage quiz. Finish page 59.
FRIDAY
Enjoy the weekend. Listen for the passage in church! Be nice to someone. Afterall, we are ALL created in the image of God!

Language Arts: Practice book page 4. At bottom of page, write 1 interrogative sentence about "Best School Year Ever".
Religion: Due to the presentation about St. Therese, we will review for Ch 1 test tomorrow. Chapter 1 test is postponed until Wednesday.
TUESDAY:
Language Arts: On loose leaf or typed- Write 2 sentences of each type Declarative, Imperative, Interrogative and Exclamatory. (8 total)
Religion: Study for Chapter 1 test.
WEDNESDAY:
Language Arts: Those who choose to can retake the P of S test for Lesson #1 spelling vocab words. LOOK OVER YOUR CHARTS and GO WITH WHAT YOU KNOW! You are genuises!
Religion: No HW
THURSDAY:

Parents, please remember to sign and return ALL tests from every subject. The Upper School teachers are trying very hard to come up with a good system of communication. We need your help to make the system work. Thanks!
Also, Some how sketch pad got eliminated from the class supply list. Also, as DARE, health and Spanish get started, we will probably require another marble composition notebook. I'll keep the 6th grade notified when that'll be. Thanks for your cooperation.
Speaking of thanks- thanks for your patience! Frankly, I was starting to lose mine... I am so sorry for taking this long to get the homework up and running. The new homework site set up didn't agree with ANY of my computers. It took some legwork, but I think/hope the mystery is solved! |
