American Government will attempt to help students understand how our American democracy works. Students will be informed about the workings of our democracy as well as how they as young adults can play a role in their government. Second semester students will work on completing the Senior Project in collaboration with their English class.

During the course of this class students will study the foundations of the United States including events that led to the formation of the country and ideas that enabled the country to be created. During the first semester we will study from the time of the early American explorers to the Revolution. During the second semester we will study from the creation of the Constitution to the time of Reconstruction.
