Hello everyone, I hope that you had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. It's hard to believe but Christmas is almost here. We only have three short weeks before we're out untill after the new year. (I think I'm more excited than the kids).
December 19th will be the last day of school before the break for the kids and I was thinking that a Christmas party might be in order for my class. They've worked so hard, I think they deserve it. I still need to get with Ms. Laker and Mrs. Coston to work out some details but if you would be willing to help out with the party it would be greatly appreciated. Just e-mail me to let me know what you can do. |

For the week of 12-01-08 we will be working on long division. On Monday and Tuesday we will be on 1 digit into 2 digit division problems with no remainders. On Wednesday and Thursday we will be working on 1 digit into 2 digit problems with a remainder. On Friday we will be working on 1 digit into 2 and 3 digit problems with and without remainders.
Student homework for the week will mirror what we are doing in class for that day. All students will have homework every night this week. Long division is an important skill and MUST be mastered for students to be successful in the next unit " Data Analysis". In this unit students will learn about finding the mean, median, mode, and range. Please work with your child at home to ensure that they understand how to do long division and check it with multiplication. |
