If you have internet access, your student can be logging into either one of these websites for FCAT Practice, math skills, and reading skills. Especially, if it is a night where no homework has been assigned!
Please check and sign the planners every night.
Also, please check to make sure that lunch accounts have money in them, if needed!

3rd Grade 30 Book Standard!!
Every third grade student is required to read 30 chapter books this year. However, this is based on 50 page books. That means if your child reads a chapter book that is 200 pages, they would receive credit for 4 books, and get 4 stickers on their chart. In order for you child to get credit for reading completed at home, they will need to complete an index card with the required information and do a book talk in class. Please look in you child's planner for how to complete the index card appropriately. It has been glued into the beginning of their planner. Your child will be reading leveled books at school, and will be completing assignments in their Reader's Response Journal. We will check their journals during guided reading and they will get credit or their stickers at that time. Please let us know if you need clarification on this topic!

ECOSYSTEM PROJECT!
Chapter 3 is about ecosystems and where certain plants and animals can live. So, many of the third grade classes have extended an extra credit type project to our students. It is an optional project but will be worth extra credit points on their science grade.
Please look for the hand-out with project ideas and directions coming home this week.
