Kenny Baldwin - I dub thee "master of finding cool websites on the English language." - Mrs. M

I told some of you this, but a few weeks ago a great literary mind, J.D. Salinger, died. He was a recluse, but had a cultish following of people. His almost satirical novels and short stories deal with the raw realities of human intellect and the bond of familial relationships. In keeping with modern American style, his prose is written in "plain, conversational English" and asks existential questions through his characters about why we're here, etc. Check out his controversial short story, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish."

Once you read that, you'll crave knowing more about Seymour Glass (yes, the name is symbolic).
Peace -

Just to be clear (I hope I was clear enough in class), you may not work with anyone else on your parallel novel journals. I don't expect to see the same vocab words, same pictures, same quotations, same examples of figurative language, etc. on anyone's papers. Copying verbatim is obviously cheating, but so is collborating on ideas without permission from your teacher, which you don't have on this assignment. Any evidence of plagiarism or working with another person on any portion of Journal 2 will result in a zero for the entire journal and a U in conduct for the 2nd 6 weeks.
Please let me know if you have any questions :-)
