Criterion Referenced Competency Test
-CRCT
The third grade students will be assessed on the Gerogia Criterion Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT). Students will be tested in Reading, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Third grade students are required to pass the Reading test for promotion to fourth grade. This year, the CRCT will be administered from April 21st to May 1st.
We will be busy all year preparing for the test and I want to thank you all in advance for your efforts to prepare your child as well. It's important that we all work hard so that the children will be successful in meeting and exceeding standards. You can assist your child in doing the following:
1.Have him or her visit *www.georgiaoas.org often to complete the assigned activities. If you notice that they are having trouble in a certain area, sit with them while they read over the lesson and answer the questions.
2.Make sure all of the assigned homework is completed, especially Friday's homework. After we check Friday's assignments together in class, please review the papers with your child.
3.Continue to have your child read for a minimum of 30 minutes each evening and fill out the reading log.
Please check back for updates to this very important post

Thank you to all of the parents who came to Open House. I truly appreciate you taking the time to learn about reading strategies you can use with your child. It is exciting to see how involved you are in your child's education. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do help you/your child. Feel free to email me at erica.wilson@oobbk12.org. Thank you again for being an amazing group of parents!
