Hi,
My name is Mariah Checketts and I am excited to be student teaching at Telluride High School. I have the privelage of working with Ms. Nelson in Spanish II and Ms. Moore in Health and Fitness.
I am from Logan Utah and will graduate this December with a Teaching Degree from USU.
I am excited for this experience.

In this class we will discuss ways of being healthy people and what areas affect our health. We will cover areas such as Mental health, Communication, Reproduction, etc. We will read the book "7 Habits of Healthy teens".
Because this is a PE credit we will also participate in physical activities that will help our health.

In this class we will be working on inproving spanish skills through listening and speaking. It will concentrate the following:
1. the four essential skills in foreign language -- listening, speaking, reading and writing
2. a further understanding of the Spanish language as taught through a cultural context
3. conjugations of commonly used verbs
4. fluid speaking and reading for content
5. reading, evaluation and discussion of selected short stories and poems
6. writing paragraphs in Spanish
