Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology are devices that would allow students with disabilites whether they be visually, learning/ cognitively, mobiley, or hearing impaired to be able to still learn in a classroom setting. These devices would allow me to still meet the individual needs of all the students in my classroom which I find to be very important. It is my first priority to create a learning environment where no students are left out of the learning process.
Examples of devices that can be used for the following impairments.
Visual: braille keyboards, canes, talking or braille watches.
Learning/ Cognitive: portable devices with step by step instructions, reading pens, and medication reminding devices.
Mobility: Wheelchairs, speech to text 9depending on severity),and touchless keyboards.
Hearing Aids: Hearing aids,FM system (teacher wears microphone that transmits to receiver student wears, and speech to text software.
Here, I will provide links to either ogranizations or websites that I would use as possible technology resources for students will disabilites in my classroom.

If you have any other websites or organizations that you feel would be valuable to other parents please post them in the message board.
