Welcome!
Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

AP Biology
The rigor of this course has been modeled after a college course in order to meet the strict requirements of the College Board.  Direct instruction is enhanced with laboratory investigations and nontraditional performance assessments to provide different avenues through which students can internalize the four big ideas set forth by the College Board as well as the connections between them.

Big Idea 1: The process of evolution drives the diversity and unity of life.

Big Idea 2: Biolgoical systems utilize energy and molecular building blocks to grow, to reproduce, and to maintain homeostasis.

Big Idea 3: Living systems store, retrieve, transmit, and respond to information essential to life processes.

Big Idea 4: Biological systems interact, and these interactions possess complex properties.

Bioethics
Bioethics is the study of moral values in the biomedical sciences. In this course, students will build upon their knowledge of biology and anatomy to include biotechnology and its role in driving a re-examination of societys moral compass. Students will utilize a decision-making model to analyze problems and case studies related to current bioethical dilemmas.

Junior Advanced Chemistry
Chemistry is the study of matter. This course focuses on the physical and chemical properties of matter and their applications in the real world. Students will focus on the relationship between matter and change from a theoretical as well as a mathematical standpoint.

Senior Advanced Chemistry
Chemistry is the study of matter. This course focuses on the physical and chemical properties of matter and their applications in the real world. Students will focus on the relationship between matter and change from a theoretical as well as a mathematical standpoint.
