The goal of this website is to make it easier for parents and students to keep informed about what is happening in class.
I will be posting homework dates and major assignment dates to allow parents and students to keep on top of what is happening.

This course is designed to prepare students for their freshman and sophomore years of college English. My goal is to have a portfolio established for every student to use as a reference while in college. I want my students to not only do well in college English but be at the top of their class.

Dual Credit English IV is designed to help students succeed in analyzing and writing about pieces of literature. Students will delve deeply into each piece of literature read during the class and analyze each piece for structure, style, themes, social values, historical values, figurative language, imagery, symbolism and time. They will also write analytical essays in which they draw upon textual details to develop an extended explanation/interpretation of the meaning of the literary text.
Dual Credit English IV is a college class; therefore, students are required to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks that would be asked of them on a college level. Students must be organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task. They must also be willing to devote time and effort to their after school assignments.
