Welcome to 4th Quarter!

Week of April 2-5:

We will write a 3rd quarter reflection piece and then continue a series of practice writing responses. Students will identify the type of writing structure, organize and draft.

Week of April 8-12:

Students will finish the writing response started last week. We will then do a variety of short writing pieces connected to starting To Kill a Mockingbird in language arts. We will also support the new writing piece (argument/persuasion) started in language arts.

Week of April 15-19:

Students will be participating in some informal writing responses geared to To Kill a Mockingbird. We will mostly be exploring character development and plot, the move to higher-level thinking responses.

Week of April 22-26:

We will continue to work on TKAM responses, building to a more formal response starting at the end of the week. Students will "research" from novel and organize two literary responses with a choice of one to develop as a full writing piece. (Comparing characters OR analyzing a symbol or theme)

Week of April 29 - May 3rd:

Students are still working on "choice" literary responses from Part I of TKAM this week. (Comparing characters OR analyzing a symbol or theme)

Week of May 6-10th:

No class on Friday due to Sixties Day.

We are going to finish up the literary responses & try to write a compare/contrast piece about the trial in TKAM.

Week of May 13 - 15 (No class May 16-17):

We are going to work on a compare/contrast piece in class & hope to have some time for LA paper.

Week of May 20-24:

We will finish our collaborative compare/contrast paper & start one more response paper on TKAM.

Week of May 28-May 31: (No class May 31 due to Field Trip)
