Social Studies 7 - American History
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. I am very excited to start the school year and have the opportunity to get to know you. This website will allow both you and your parents to be aware on what we are doing in class every day. Also, this website will help you stay organized and up to date with all notes, homework and long term projects in American History - Social Studies 7.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Course Description: American History (Grade 7) is the first year of a two-year course. The seventh grade curriculum is chronologically organized from pre-Columbian until conflict leading to the American Civil War. Along with coverage of these topics, there is a focus on research and writing skills. The state curriculum requires students to have detailed knowledge of American History in order to be able to answer various types of questions. Essays, primary documents, technology-based projects, research assignments and discussions will all help prepare students for a successful academic career. Students are required to take a cumulative final exam in June and are expected to maintain all class materials. ![]()
