English 9H
ENGLISH 9H GOALS: The goals of the English program in Newport News are to teach students to read and write and to prepare students to participate in society as literate citizens, equipped with the ability to communicate effectively in their communities, in the work place, and in post secondary education. As students progress through the school years, they become active and involved listeners and develop a full command of the English language, evidenced by their use of standard English and their rich speaking and writing vocabularies. TEXTBOOK: You will be assigned a textbook to bring to and from class each day. Class work cannot be completed without the textbook, so it is imperative you bring it with you. You will be responsible for any lost or damaged books once they are assigned to you. You will have the opportunity to earn extra credit by bringing in your book during quarterly book checks.
IN ORDER TO SEE HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS, CLICK ON THE "VIEW CALENDAR" CHOICE BELOW (WHERE IT SAYS "CURRENT EVENTS AND HOMEWORK").
Rugby
