Hello parents and students,
Welcome back to school after a long weekend! I have been entering in grades and assessing students abilities and found that Capitalization practices are needed. Good writers began all sentences with a capital letter and capitalize all proper nouns. (examples, names- Mary, James, Titles- President Obama, Uncle Joe, languages- Spanish, French, religion- Christian, Buddhist,) etc... Please help your child to understand capitalization is important when writing. Next week we will began reading our class novel. Do you have your novel purchased or check out of the library of next week? ( Where the Red Fern Grows)

Greetings Andover Eagles and Parents, I hope everyone is doing well in spite of our brush with Tropical Storm Isaac. We are really getting into the grove of things. We are finishing our St testing sessions in Reading and Writing skills and learning the habitats of good scholars and readers. Please remember that we must have our St novel "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Sept. 10, 2012. Feel free to email me with questions concerning this requirement and hope to see you all at open house.

Hello Parents and Students,

 

            Welcome to Seventh Grade at Andover Middle School, My name is Mrs. Alexander and I will be your child’s Language Arts 2 or Developmental teacher this year.  Seventh Grade is an incredible adventure, filled with wonderful activities and experiences.  We will have fun with projects, writing and research, as well as read fantastic books, and learn how to become a more independent learner!

 

            In our school, learning is a team effort, and you and I have a common goal…to help your child become the best scholar possible and a joyful learner.  To do this, I will utilize every available minute of our day to enrich your child’s learning.  I will also send homework which supports classroom instruction, update my website to inform you and my students, and provide helpful links to enhance the students learning abilities.  As for your support, I know that you will do everything possible to help your child build confidence, independence and standards. Our school has an open door policy and you can always email, text, phone or stop by. The hours for team conferences and contact information will be given to your child a later date.  

 

            Your child will receive a syllabus listing important information about the class and any supplies needed for a successful year.  

 

            I am looking forward to meeting you at our ”Open House” and know that I will put forth my best effort to help your child be all that they can be.
