Happy Holidays Service Learning Project

Happy Holidays from G.A.T.E. students! You might think Christmas is far away -- but not in GATE! We have played Christmas music, sprayed holiday room spray and have begun to create our holiday artwork this week! GATE students will be participating in a service learning project this holiday season. Each GATE student will create 5 pieces of art to share with patients of Alacare Home Health. These patients will have a bright spot in their day this December when a home health nurse delivers our original art! Students will create glittery ornaments, handprint angels, hand painted bookmarks, holiday stockings, and fragrant sachets all made by our students! The students have such a sweet spirit about sharing their artistic and creative gifts with others. We will also be creating original handmade gift tag sets. There will be 10 handmade gift tags in a gift box tied with holiday ribbon and GATE business card. These sets will be sold for $5 with ALL $5 going to the Alacare Home Health and Hospice Non Profit Organization. Our goal is to be able to donate $300 to this Hospice Fund. I am so proud of my students enthusiasm about this project! I know THEY will make this a huge success! Each student is contributing one item for our art supplies! EVERYONE is important to this project! Thank you, kids and parents, for the art supplies, extra help, and support of this service learning project!
