Advanced Computer Applications
This course is designed for students who have successfully completed Business Computers at the high school level and wish to learn more about computer applications using Microsoft Office 2010.

Students will have an opportunity to gain the basic skills necessary for employment in any business-related environment. Students will learn to use the computer for advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database activities. Students will utilize and integrate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Excel will be used to build, format, and enhance worksheets and charts. Students will use Access to create, edit, and query databases.

Dual credit is offered through Missouri Stage University for qualified students (as CIS 101). It will replace a mandatory freshman course at most colleges.
Business Leadership
This course is project-based and is closely tied with FBLA. Students will work on several FBLA projects throughout the year and will be the FBLA Leadership Team.

Students will learn various multimedia skills and be expected to participate in a variety of leadership activities.

Employability skills will be gained by mock interviewing for a job, preparing a resume, filling out job application forms, and by preparing an employment portfolio.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of at least one full credit in a business class and previous involvement in FBLA.
Computer Applications
Students will learn to be proficient in Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010. These skills will enable them to work more effectively and productively in their other high school classes as well as in today's workforce.

This is a required course for graduation. Typically students take this class in their freshman or sophomore year.
Desktop Publishing
Students are instructed in the fundamental features of Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher. They will utilize Photoshop CS3 to edit and manipulate pictures and graphics; prepare various documents for print; and apply desktop publishing rules and techniques.

Students will create a variety of projects that will be used by FBLA and are encouraged to be an active member of FBLA.
