Fire Service I
The objectives for this course are to provide you with information, training and knowledge should you decide to enter into a career as a firefighter whether it be paid or volunteer. As a career firefighter, you may be required to attain the Fire Fighter I certification. This class will not be a substitute for that certification course. Most of the information will benefit you should you decide to join a volunteer Fire Department or take the state course when you are eighteen. In this class we will cover the chapters and skills from the Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills 2nd Edition textbook. This class will be both physically and mentally demanding, so come prepared to give your all, which could save someone’s life.
Fire Service II
This course has been comprised to assist with the development of leadership skills for students interested in Fire Service Management. Students will develop skills needed and required for positions throughout a Fire Department Organizational Chart starting as an entry level firefighter through Chief of the Department. Soft and interpersonal skills are essential for success in any leadership position, this course will require students to continue developing both.
Orientation to Police, Fire and EMS - Spring 2013
This course will provide students with a basic understanding of the career opportunities within the Emergency Services sector. Students will learn about the basic principles of public service and specific job duties/responsibilities of Firefighters (volunteer and paid), Police Officers and Emergency Medical Service providers.
