- Show they care.
- Ask the question.
- Tell an adult.
7th Grade - Drug/Alcohol Prevention
In conjunction with Red Ribbon Week, the counselor visits with the 7th grade students regarding the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse. The harmful effects of huffing is also discussed.
8th Grade - Drug Prevention Education
In conjunction with Red Ribbon Week, the focus of the 8th grade classroom guidance for the month of October is a review of the "gateway drugs" and the dangers of meth.
8th Grade - Sexual Harassment, Don't Start!
Because puberty is such a time of confusion and misperceptions, students often express their feelings in an inappropriate manner. Sexual harassment occurs when an individual harasses or bullies another individual in ways that are sexual. It can include touching, bumping into, grabbing, name-calling, rumors, jokes, preventing passage, and leering. It is important to remember that whether something is considered sexual harassment totally depends upon how it is perceived, not how it is intended. Students will learn to be pro-active in stopping sexual harassment.
