Hi! My name is Miss Aimee Thomas. I was born and raised in northeastern Alabama. I graduated from Jacksonville State University, cum laude, in April 2006 with a Highly Qualified Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and HQ 7-12 Reading. I began my teaching career at an enrichment and remediation summer program teaching 1st graders. In the fall I began at an all Kindergarten school in Albertville, Alabama--Big Spring Lake Kindergarten-- teaching 2 maternity leaves and becoming literacy intervention teacher on a team of 21 Kindergarten teachers. I also continued teaching 1st grade each summer. (I knew I loved that age and I definitely love to teach--even during the summer). From there I went on to teach a maternity leave in 3rd grade at Albertville Elementary School and then continued to teach 3rd grade until I decided to make the move to Heyburn, Idaho in 2010. I have found Idaho to be both a beautiful and inspirational place to live. This will be my 5th year teaching and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to teach your child at such a wonderful school.  I look forward to meeting and working with each of you. Welcome to first grade! Mt. View Elementary is a great school in the Cassia County School District. Thank you for welcoming me in such a warm way. I will miss you all as I move back to Alabama! You will always be in my heart.
