Daymar Institute
Welcome to Winter 2011 at the New Daymar Institute
Hello everyone...I hope that you will take advantage of this new site to keep up to date on your classes, activities and assignments.
I wanted to let everyone in my classes know a little bit about me...I am currently the Program Lead for General Education at Daymar Murfreesboro. I have been on the faculty here for 4 years, and am currently working on my 5th year as an instructor. I welcome all our students and hope that if you need some help, tutoring or just someone to listen to that you will seek me out.
I am an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and in additon to my work at Daymar; I am also, one of three Chaplains at MTMC and I also direct a non-profit organization called "Rosa's Children" to help reunite ex-offenders with their families.
Prior to coming to Daymar I have taught preschool through adults, pastored churches, spent four years as an outpatient counselor specializing in Personality Disorders, and have worked within the Tennessee State Prison System...I am a graduate of Vanderbilt University, Bluefield College and Southwest Virginia Community College as well as the Tennessee State Correctional Academy.
I am currently trying to discern what I would like to do when I grow up :-)...
I would love for everyone to add their comments, ask questions, and lets just keep in touch. Let's learn together...
"One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child." Carl G. Jung
