This course solidifies skills involving numbers and operations, and emphasizes algebraic manipulation and representation of linear functions and related data analysis skills. This course will move along fairly quickly. We have a lot of material to cover this year! If you feel you need more help with Algebra, Labs are now available! Just see your counselor about trading an elective for an Algebra lab class. It may be just the extra boost you need!

The purpose of this class is to help students fill in the gaps in past learning of math concepts. Graduation requirements for Math now state that all students must test at the proficient level on the Idaho Standard Achievement Test. Presently, all Meridian District High School Students are given the ISAT Test in the Spring of their sophomore year. Students who score proficient (Math - 238) are not required to test again. Students with a score of 237 or lower are referred to the Math Skills class. Class numbers are kept low to provide greater student-teacher interaction . Elective credit (no Math credit) is given for Math Skills.
The following link may be helpful for home practice of the ISAT:
Idaho ISAT Practice Exam Link - Keep in mind all sophomore students must compile a RIT composite score of 238 to be considered proficient in Math.
Participating in class will help you be most successful…and help you pass the ISAT!
