The Backpack Program was established to help MPS families who may be experiencing a tough time. By parent request, healthy snacks are sent home in backpacks every Friday afternoon. Most food items are ready-to-eat or can be microwaved. Backpacks are placed in student lockers Friday afternoon. In the event of early dismissal, back packs are still sent home. If there is no school (ie Thanksgiving/Christmas break), backpacks are sent home the last day before break starts. Backpacks are to be returned to the main office on Monday mornings. If they are not returned, students will not receive a backpack the following Friday. When you no longer need this service, simply call or send a note, and have your student return the backpack. If your family is in need of this program, please let me know.
