The Multiple Choice portion of Exam 4 will be given today.
Multiple Choice
Topics Covered:
1. Biotechnology/Genetic Engineering
2. Evolution
3. Classification
4. Earth's early atmosphere/origin of life
5. Viruses
6. Bacteria
7. Protists
8. Fungi
9. Plants
You will have to respond to 75 multiple choice questions for this portion of the midterm exam.
To prepare for this part of the exam, you need to read the following chapters in the Cliff's AP Guide and complete the practice questions at the end of the chapters: "Molecular Genetics" (only read the "Recombinant DNA" section). Look at questions #16, 19, 20, 21 for that chapter. Also read the "Evolution" Chapter (all practice questions), the "Biological Diversity chapter (you can skip the animal kingdom reading and questions), and the "Plant" chapter (complete all questions for this one).
You also need to complete (and study) the practice multiple choice questions. Because there were very few questions included that focused on plants, you might want to look over the plant questions that you can download here. Remember, focus on the questions at the end of the AP labs (AP Lab 6a, 6b, 8, 9a, and 9b), then note sets for ALL topics, and if you have time, worksheets. Bell Questions can also be handy to identify important concepts. To review your notes, one student suggested scanning your notes and highlighting anything that is still "fuzzy" that way, you can go back through your notes a second or even a third time only focusing on the concepts that you need to focus on. You can also download the Greed Game (M.T. #4) in the Downloads section of this website (bottom of this homepage) and also come in during the times specified to play Greed with other AP Biology students. PLEASE NOTE, however, that these review cards should only be used as a supplemental review strategy.
If you are still not sure how to study, click on "Study Strategies" at the top of this homepage.
You can come in today to play GREED before school and during PAT/Lunch. This is the last day you can earn extra credit toward your midterm exam. |
