In our school foyer, we have a collection box for Farm Fresh receipts, General Mills Box Tops for Education, Campbell's Soup Labels, and Tyson A+ for Education. Please check out the websites for each of these great programs for more information. Please do take note that the Campbell's Labels for Education program is accepting the UPCs with logos instead of front labels this year.
Save your Farm Fresh receipts, BoxTops, Campbell Soup UPC's and Tyson Project A+ labels and send them in often! All of these programs directly support the children of our school. Don't forget to ask friends and relatives to clip these items as well. If you're a Food Lion shopper, be sure to link your MVP card and designate Green Run Elementary as your participating school so that a percentage of your purchases will come back to our school.

Congratulations to Mr. Reginald Pearson! He was the winner of our first random membership raffle! Who will be next? When is the next raffle? What will the prize be? Those questions may be hard to figure out, but what is not hard to figure out is how you qualify to be in the raffle. Its simple... All you have to do is become a PTA member! Yep that's all!
It pays to be a PTA memeber!
To date we have 182 PTA members! I am proud to say that in a little over a month into the school year, we have almost reached the total number of members that we had for the whole year in the previous school year! This is great! Thank you to the many people that have joined the PTA!

Welcome to Green Run Elementary School! I am Richelle Harrison, your PTA President for the 2009-2010 school year!
Over the past 13 years I have seen the parent role of the PTA changing. It gives me great pleasure to know that as a parent we are longer just needed for fundraising and paper stapling. Although we are still needed by teachers and staff for some important behind the scene volunteer assistance, we are now more than ever as it relates to being an important key to our students success in school. Our school system has expressed that parental involvement is needed to ensure the educational success of today’s students. We are not just PTA members but key factors in our schools systems strategic plans and an important part of our individual schools plans for continuous improvement. The “P” in PTA just gets bigger and bigger!
I encourage you to visit our school and PTA website often and to read our school’s newsletters to keep up with our school and PTA information throughout the year. I also encourage you to attend the school and PTA events that we have planned for the school year. It is up to us to teach our children the importance of education. If we as parents show excitement towards school, our children will be excited about school. I can’t stress enough how passionate I am about promoting the educational and social welfare of not only my children but all of our children and I hope you share that same passion.
Please consider joining the PTA!
We have a very eager PTA board this year and we are still welcoming volunteers to serve on our committees. I am very excited to be the PTA President at Green Run Elementary this year. The entire PTA board hopes that you and your students have a successful year here at Green Run Elementary.
