Social Studies Toolkit
Included in this section are tools that we use in my class to better analyze and understand the ideas and issues of the cultures we are exploring. Gathered from around the net, with some originals thrown in, the list expands as new ideas are found.

Just added material from Harvard's Project Zero - really well-constructed thinking/discussion routines for use in the classroom.

Circle (Pie) Graph Template (14.28 KB)
A very handy template for making accurate pie graphs in my class. Understanding how data should look requires slowing down and counting and crafting the presentation. To use: use a ruler to connect the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock bigger marks. This will create a cross hair, from which the pie pieces pivot. There are 100 "ticks" around this graph which matches the 100% that goes along with data displayed in pie format. Your data must add up to 100% to use this.
