College Transitions is a preparation course to assist students in the transition from high school to college. The students will use the computer and the Internet to research careers, colleges, and college majors, as well as investigate financial aid, and scholarships sources. Students will also prepare college applications, college essays, and financial aid forms, Guest speakers will speak on a wide variety of careers.
The course presents a forum for discussing college issues. It will also introduce the students to critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, budget planning, conflict resolution, time management, and coping with stress. Emphasis will be placed on improving listening, verbal, and written skills using college-based activities.
