College Preparatory Course (P): This introductory course, open to all students who wish to learn Spanish, is intended to develop limited facility in each major communication skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Interactive learning activities will create a wide variety of opportunities for the mastery of Spanish, enabling students to achieve a novice-level competence, as outlined by national guidelines.
Course goals:
1. Students will demonstrate progressive acquisition of the basic language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, in accordance with American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages proficiency guidelines.
2. Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate using high-frequency vocabulary and structures in the target language.
3. Students will demonstrate basic knowledge of the geography, social organization, and culture of Spanish-speaking countries and Hispanic areas of the US.

Español 3-4
College Preparatory Course (P): This course is designed for students who have successfully competed Spanish 1-2. It is a continuation of the introductory course and it is intended to extend students’ limited facility in the major skills. It explores more in- depth the understanding, speaking, reading, and writing of the Spanish language as well as the Hispanic culture. Interactive learning activities will create a wide variety of opportunities for the mastery of Spanish, enabling students to develop the ability to speak with fluency and accuracy as outlined by the California Standards.
Course goals:
1. Students will demonstrate progressive acquisition of the intermediate language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, in accordance with American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages proficiency guidelines.
2. Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate using high-frequency vocabulary and structures in the target language.
3. Students will demonstrate basic knowledge of the geography, social organization, and culture of Spanish-speaking countries and Hispanic areas of the US.

Español 5-6
College Preparatory Course (P): This course is designed for students who have successfully completed Spanish 3-4.It is a continuation of the preceding course and is intended to increase students’ proficiency. Emphasis on fluency with accurate pronunciation and intonation continues, as well as emphasis on cultural awareness and appreciation. It is crucial for students to succeed in this course in order to be able go to the next level. Students with a C or higher, will be able to continue based on the teacher’s recommendation. Interactive learning activities will create a wide variety of opportunities for the mastery of Spanish, enabling students to achieve an intermediate-advanced level competence, as outlined by the California Standards.
Course goals:
1. Students will demonstrate progressive acquisition of the intermediate language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, in accordance with American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages proficiency guidelines.
2. Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate using high-frequency vocabulary and structures in the target language.
3. Students will demonstrate basic knowledge of the geography, social organization, and culture of Spanish-speaking countries and Hispanic areas of the US.

Get Spanish tutoring/Busca ayuda academica
If you have a C+ or lower in Spanish, come and get some help during lunch time on A days except for Fridays. You must come to tutoring or have a question about homework if you wish to improve your grade.
