What a week we had!!!! We finished up with our zoo animals pals and the fieldtrip to the Norfolk Zoo was so much fun – great weather, lots of animals out and about for us to see and/or photograph and great support from our parents, relatives and Landstown staff. We had a terrific time!!! The LES preschool teachers hope that that all of the children were as happy about the trip as we were. We also hope that they slept really well for you on Friday night!
Back to work we go - This will be the first of two weeks that we will be talking and learning about growing flowers and gardens. We will learn about the parts of a flower and making several different art projects that will show how flowers grow in the springtime. We will also grow our own marigold plants to bring home next Friday. I am hoping that the children have “greener” thumbs than Miss Lisa does.
The children will also be working on a very special “SECRET” project this week. The finished product will come home with your child on Friday. I am sorry parents, but the children have made me promise that I will say anything more about this activity. “MUMS” the word!!
Our Letter of the Week is the letter “Q”: Our target vocabulary words will be quilt and queen. Let’s try to have another Super Show and Tell on Friday!! Each Friday we get some wonderfully thought out items for our circle time. Both Carey and I enjoy looking into the book bags on Friday morning to see what each class has brought in to share.
Thanks to all of the caring parents that we have had the pleasure to have worked with this year. Your unending support of the Landstown Preschool program and to your children continues to humble us. Each of the children have gently “wormed “their way into our hearts and if you have not heard me personally say this before now, they have taught us so very much this year. It has been a great year so far and we still have some great times ahead of us. We still have to go into space for a couple of weeks and then visit the seaside to learn about ocean creatures before the end of the year.
Please continue to visit the webpage and do let me know how you feel it has benefited you and your child during the school year. I have some thoughts about improving it next year but would love to hear from all who have visited it so far this year.
