Our first week of learning about animals we may see at the zoo was so much fun. We talked about elephants (trunk, peanuts and trumpet), lions (roar, mane, lioness and cubs) and giraffes (long necks, eat leaves and baby is called a calf) This week is bound to be just as much fun ending with our long awaited trip to the Norfolk Zoo on Friday!!! (Please keep your fingers crossed for nice weather. WAVY-10’s Jon Cash’s forecast looks good right now) We are looking forward to having several parents and other family members accompany us. Thanks to all who will be able to come with us!! Please make sure to return your child’s permission slip as soon as possible and let me know if you have any questions as far as the day’s activities. We usually have time for lunch and play in the beautiful park adjacent to the ZOO after we finish our visit. DON’T FORGET TO BERING YOUR CAMERA!!!
The children in both classes are really enjoying hearing stories and seeing lots of real pictures of our zoo friends. This week we’ll be talking about zebras (Look like horses with stripes), monkeys (like to eat bananas and swing from tree branches), hippopotamus (big mouth and like to stay cool in the water) and crocodiles (Have bumpy skin and go snap-snap-snap).
Our Letter of the Week is “P” Target Vocabulary: Pig, pumpkin, pancakes (I think we might be having a special snack during the week) and patterns. Because of the Friday fieldtrip, we’ll have Show and Tell on Thursday!!! Keep up the good work AM class; you have 100% for several weeks now. I would love to see the PM class have 100% this week!!! To all my parents: I really do appreciate your “at home” preparation and participation with this fun activity. The little ones love to show off what they have brought in during circle time. It is a good sharing activity and we get to see some very interesting and special items.
