Old MacDonald had a Farm... and boy have we learned a lot about it. Last week was so much fun. The children are really enjoying talking about what can be found on a farm. During the week we spent time talking about cows, horses and pigs. We read several books, looked at realistic pictures and listened to the sounds they make on the computer. We also sang the Old MacDonald song with stuffed animals to hold.
The letter "L" was lots of fun too! We had the children roaring like lions and tasting a sour lemon. We laughed all the way through the week.
As for SHOW AND TELL we had almost 100% participation in both classes. Items brought in included a leaf, lots of lollipops and a stuffed lion
The week to come should be a fun one too. We'll continue to work on our Farm theme. This week our 2 and 4 legged friends will include chickens, roosters and a lamb. We'll also be talking about some of the jobs that the farmer does. The week will end with mama and baby animal names.
Our letter of the week is "M". Our target vocabulary is: mermaid, mouse, moon, muffin and milkshake. (Can you guess what we'll be having for snack this week?
